Status

Hello everybody.

This is probably going to be the last post for this year.

No new bug reports for a while, so I guess that's a good sign.

So here's the news.




I began to write the rough script for Chapter 7, it's about 50% done I'd say. But it still needs a lot of polishing.

What I can already say that there are going to be two new characters for your party.

I got a couple of circumstances down for new H-Scenes and all in all I'm going to wrap up a lot of loose strings in this chapter.

I made 19 new maps already:

One big exterior map, a temple map with 3 levels and a lot of houses.

And that's about it.

Why look at that! Another Patch...

This Patch fixes, among the things in the previous patches, a problem in the Asylum where an overlay shadow would not disappear, blacking out half of the screen.




Also, please do not forget to turn the cheat mode off after you used the sword of the cheater!

This patch fixes a few issues like typos and invisible Shooga in the default save.



Also, it adds 5 Hi-Potions. 10 Potions, 5 Dispel Herbs, 5 Stimulants and 5 Antidotes to the inventory.

Don't forget to set your level before you quit or you will start at Level 1!

Finally it's here.

This update adds Chapter 6 to Invasion D.

After the events in Fatienobel West, the group splits again.
While Jack and company are going go for the Archive's Vault, Jeff has to find a way to reach the southern islands of Fatienobel.

2 Characters already know from Chapter 5 can join Jeff or Jack, 1 new Character joins Jeff in the South.

The incident at the Asylum has not gone unnoticed, resulting in serious consequences for our friends.
2 characters might not make it through the Chapter, if you do not or did not take the right actions.

So far for the story. What's new in the game?



The most important parts:

Old saves are not compatible, so is probably the global save, because I had to reserve new switches for the new H-Scenes. If you encounter a bug, try to remove the old global save if you imported it and try again. If the bug does not occur again, the global save was probably the problem.

Along with the links to the main files, I provided a blank save. Load it and you will start at the beginning of Chapter 4. You will then be prompted to set up your Level, Money, Alignment and a few other options.

The good/evil has been reworked. Jeff and Jack are no longer dependent on one another in their development. Instead each of the two's alignment depends solely on their own decisions.

All H-Scenes can now be aborted by pressing ESC (might still be buggy, please report problems that you might encounter).

A lot of new maps, most importantly:
-The southern Islands,
-The Showbar/Casino of Sheroot
-Bungalows, Bungalows, Bungalows...
-The Magic Item Shop of Plinpe incl. its basement
-2 Dungeon Levels and a 2 story tower map
-Roha's House has a basement now
-Another secret dungeon underneath Plinpe and a secret place for Roha
-and more...

Aside from the main Questline:
-1 short Side Quest with an unlockable H-Scene
-1 short Puzzle Quest for Donors

 13 (? I lost count...) At least 13 new H-Scenes, 3 of them are remakes of old scenes.
Some longer, some shorter, 3 of them are Donor Exclusive.

-A new funky Outro Sequence.

-New Bonus Pictures.

-I remade a lot of Battlers, like Blechsack and Dyzief.

-Special Resting Spots in certain places with more nudies, varying if Characters are dominated or not

Status: 99%!!!

I finished the final testversion on Friday and it looks like Mickele and I found and fixed a good chunk of the last remaining bugs.
No guarantee that there might not still be some left.

A probably bug source might be the fact that all H-Scenes are now abort able and have not been tested outside of the galley yet.

There's is still a long typo list, that I have to correct. But that should probably be done by Tuesday.

But all in all, things are looking pretty good.




So... maybe I can release the official update by the next weekend.

I decided that I will from now solely upload to mega.co.nz and provide mega links.
I'm keeping my other file hoster accounts though, so If you have trouble accessing mega from your location for some reason, let me know which hosters work for you and I'll try to provide alternative links.

Status

Hello everybody.

I spent this week mostly with creating CGs for the last H-Scenes.

That and reorganizing my TDCG mods... involuntarily because for some reason I was getting one error after another.




Not very convenient when you are in the middle of setting up a scene and scroll through your mods and then you stumble upon a bad mod that crashes your game and you forgot to save and an hours work or more is gone...

Well, anyway. I completed 1 of the last 3 scenes and the second one is half done.
It is a lesbian scene, that will show a side a of a certain character yet unseen.
I must say, I like it very much.



The second can be unlocked in a side quest and I'm planning to hide an extra for donors inside the scene, provided that you have the right party with you. You will need one certain party member to unlock it at all.

Here's a hint:

The full gif is included among over 100 more in the Donor Gifpack, which will be released along with the next update.


The third one is going to be a short one, so I might be done with the final test version by the middle of next week.

Fortunately, looking at the poll, I won't have to make a fourth one. ^^
(I'll do it anyway in a later update :P)

I might have completed them all by now, but I got a bit carried away with the animations and settings... :3

I have almost finished Chapter 6. Yay.

Yet this post is going to be rather short.




Storyhise everything's done and has been tested intensively over the last week. There are still a couple of bugs left, which I will get to later this week.

For now I have to complete the last couple of H-Scenes and add them to the gallery.

I planned to add the skip feature for H-Scene with the next release, but I think I'd rather add it after the release via patch.

Things are going south in this chapter. Figuratively and literally. Hope you did not grew to fond to some of your favourite places...

The poll is still running and it looks like I'm going to make another male only scene - so far.

But keep voting.

Maybe I'll everything complete everything until the next weekend. Still have to make at least one test run then though.

Status

A bit late this week.

I finished the Secret Island side quest this week and Jeff's quest line on the Southern Islands.
There are a lot of scripted events going on there, which took a long time to make (mostly figuring out move routes).

I'm almost done with the finale. I might even complete the main storyline today.

What's still left to do is making 3 or 4 H-Scene and one Cut Scene, adding the new scenes to the gallery and a bit of polishing.

I'm tempted to make another male on male scene.
But I'm not sure if it's worth the time. So leave your opinion in the comments.
I'm also setting up a poll about male only H-Scenes.

Speaking of H-Scenes:
After the next release I'm going to go through the older Scenes and make them all skipable and abortable. 

Meanwhile, Mickele is testing the shit out of the current test version. So many thanks to him. ^^

find too heavy on spoilers.

Status

Happy Sunday everybody.

Now that Halloween is over, everybody is stuffed with candy and high on sugar, let's get back to the important things in life: Cheap independent Hentai games.

This week could be call trial and error.





I and Mickele spent a lot of time with testing.
We wasted a lot of time finding out, why the test version shows bugs that do not appear in my dev version... with little result. My guess is a script problem. Seems that once an event transports you to another map, the event stops working in some, but not all cases, and sometimes commands after the transfer are not executed. Any fellow developers out there who encountered this problem?

On the other hand, we were able to find and fix a lot of other bugs.

What else... I finished 2 short, donor exclusive, H-Scenes and rewrote a good part of the end of chapter 6.

At least 2 Scenes are still to be done.

So far 11 are in this new version, including the remade Cocki sleep scene and the Jeff Rape scene.

I had to make changes to the retransformation CE of Jeff, just in terms of functionality... and now it does not work anymore with savegames and only in new games...
So I had to write a dummy event for saves. Otherwise, Jeffs change would not change back to normal after a fight. Tried to insert a page to troops to check the transformation status after every round, but I removed them again, because it slowed down the fights.

But I' going to provide fresh saves with the next release, for those who do not want to start all over again.

I made a couple of new face sets. I'm not using the face generator of VXA anymore besides making a base picture, so I would know how I want the face to look like. The rest is done in gimp.

Currently I'm finishing a long scripted scene, after which I can start with the finale.
Overall I'd say I'm at the 80% mark.

No screens today, because I think, they would be to spoiler heavy.

Thoughts on RPG Maker games and map design

Before I started working on Invasion D, I played a couple of other Hentai RPGs based on different RPG Maker Versions.

The first one was Harem, which sadly is on Hiatus atm.
Harem was the game that inspired me to make my own game.
A simple to use Game Engine? With TDCG Graphics? I should try that!
And so I did.

And obviously I was not the only one with that thought, since a lot of RGG Maker games
appeared over the last 2 years or so.

I enjoyed Overwhored quite a lot and once the port to VXA is finished, I'm curious to see,
what's new.
This one does not have TDCG Graphics, but beautiful (and hot ^^) hand drawn images. I wish I could draw better than passable...

One issue that I encountered a lot in other games is bad map design.

So here are some tips on improving your maps:

- Often I see huge maps, without much detail. Which makes the rather boring to explore and
   difficult to orientate.

RPG Maker gives you a lot of resources to make your maps pretty. So you should use them. Plant a bush here and there, a tree, rocks etc. Think Landmarks.

- Don't make huge houses without windows and just a table and a chair in the middle.
   Keep them small and neat.
   Carpets are a nice touch. Hang pictures on those walls, curtains, shelves...

- Cracks in walls can point to a poor neighbourhood.

- Use cracks a lot in ruins.

- Make caves look like caves. They usually have stalactites and rubble lying around.

- Avoid squares! How often do you walk outside in the woods or on a grassy field and see
  tree groves growing in squares? There are no squares in nature, try to make it look as organic
  as you can.


Another thing:

- Make the edges of outside maps clear and do not just lay grass up to the last cell.
  Running into an invisible wall with no visible obstacle is annoying.
  Also, make the exits clear.
  Avoid to cover the edge of the map in green and then place a transport event somewhere in the
  middle. Nobody remembers where that one spot is.

  Mark the edges with trees, fences, water, mountains, rocks... Whatever fits.
  There a many possibilities.

Generally it is a good idea to know beforehand what kind of map you want to make and to have an idea, how it should look like.
Draw a rough sketch of your map before you start building.
You can still improvise and don't shy away from changing things around even if it deviates from your original ideas. You'd be surprised how many new ideas can come from that.
Like you made an island somwhere and next to it another one, just for decoration.

And then you'd think: Hey, why not hide treasures around the main landmass on smaller islands?
Oh and on that one island could be a boss, who drops that awsome weapon! This weapon should give you a special skill! But I already used all the standard skills... Let's make a new one! 
But I don't want it to have a stock animation, why not play around with the animation editor?
Whoa! I made a new animation! And suddenly you learned something that you can use later to improve your game.

So that's my 2 cents on map design.

- Cracks in walls can point to a poor neighbourhood.

- Use cracks a lot in ruins.

- Make caves look like caves. They usually have stalactites and rubble lying around.

- Avoid squares! How often do you walk outside in the woods or on a grassy field and see
  tree groves growing in squares? There are no squares in nature, try to make it look as organic
  as you can.


Another thing:

- Make the edges of outside maps clear and do not just lay grass up to the last cell.
  Running into an invisible wall with no visible obstacle is annoying.
  Also, make the exits clear.
  Avoid to cover the edge of the map in green and then place a transport event somewhere in the
  middle. Nobody remembers where that one spot is.

  Mark the edges with trees, fences, water, mountains, rocks... Whatever fits.
  There a many possibilities.

Generally it is a good idea to know beforehand what kind of map you want to make and to have an idea, how it should look like.
Draw a rough sketch of your map before you start building.
You can still improvise and don't shy away from changing things around even if it deviates from your original ideas. You'd be surprised how many new ideas can come from that.
Like you made an island somwhere and next to it another one, just for decoration.

And then you'd think: Hey, why not hide treasures around the main landmass on smaller islands?
Oh and on that one island could be a boss, who drops that awsome weapon! This weapon should give you a special skill! But I already used all the standard skills... Let's make a new one! 
But I don't want it to have a stock animation, why not play around with the animation editor?
Whoa! I made a new animation! And suddenly you learned something that you can use later to improve your game.

So that's my 2 cents on map design.

Status

Happy Sunday everybody.

This week I finished another H-Scene.
This one is a bit interactive, meaning that you have to solve a very small mini game to proceed.
It's again similar to the Foo Snap scene.

I made 2 short CG Cut Scenes of which the optional one turned out pretty dark, so I decided to give Jeff a big EP boost if he chooses to... well, it involves fire (duh!).

I think he's pissed...

Made a lot of new sprites, mostly nudies, which sounds like fun but is really time consuming...

I extended the Fatienobel South map. It's now roughly double the size compared to the early design and I think I'm going add a dungeon level similar to the Berserker Tower.

BTW, all animation test gifs are going into my new gifpack, which will be released with the next update as a donor bonus. Status

Hello everybody.

Here's another Status Update.

The Show Bar and Casino Maps are finished and you can now play a slimmed down Version of Micromax at the Casino. There are a couple of pretty nice pizes to win, like the Battle Wang Combiner, in case you did not find it in the Asylum.





I completed a couple of interior maps for the Southern Islands, made a new Faceset for a new playable Character called Cheree. This is one of the pictures of her when you first meet her (and are a Donor).






Also, I made a new Bonus Pic. There are now 13 total already in the game. The Bonus Gallery allows non Donors to view 10 of them, if you found them. Every picture above 10 is forn Donors only.

Momentarily I'm doing a lot of detail work on the maps, but with most of the grapical stuff out oft the way (face sets, charsets, remaking the Portal sprite,etc.) the story is finally progressing again, which was about time!

I think with the next releases, I will be going away from uploaded the others and switch to mega.
Rapidgator and mediafire made it a habit to delete my files and uploaded is just so damn slow.
Also, I requested a payout from Uploaded a couple of months ago (50,something €) and I still got nothing, so I kind of feel scammed...

That's it for today, don't forget to click on the download links once a day and wait for the countown to finish.
Do it 50000 times and my uploaded loss would be evened out. ^^

Status

Hello everybody.

Yepp, I'm back at work.

What I did this week:

-Playing again to get back into the game and to create clean saves

-added a basement dungeon to the Magic Item Shop

-inside this dungeon you can find a very powerful item

-created battle animations for said item

What's going on...

Hello everybody.

I know it's been a while since I posted on this blog. And many of you might wonder why.
There is no simple answer. Many things came together and slowly build what I perceived as a mountain of problems that kept me not only from working on the game but also outright trying to ignore it.

Since I started the project, I felt a certain pressure.
And I felt a responsibility towards my players to not only to make a good game but also to be quicker with releases. I know that I'm mostly building this up myself.

Then there is the quest log issue. Although it is a great and useful feature, the implementation of the log takes a lot of time and requires me to play the game several times to test the required script for each and every possible route. Which is very dry work and not really motivating.
On top of that I have to finish the log before I can go on with the storyline because I have to insert the log scripts first. Which resulted in outright frustration.

On top of that, there are personal issues that I still have to deal with. There were and still are changes that certain members of my family have to go through. Like my mom lost her job after 35 years and now at almost 60 finds herself without much of a perspective. I'd like to help her, but my personal financial situation is not great as well, so I can not do much about it. Which, again, is frustrating.

All of that played into my own personal problems, making it impossible for me to keep working.

I do not really know what to do right now. I did not work on the games for 2 months at least and I feel bad about it.
I did not visit my blogs or the forum threads and I did not read any comments or emails. And did not dare to do so yet.

But at least  I wanted to you to know what's going on on my side.
Maybe it's the a first step to sort things out concerning the game and the community.
And to finally get back to work and find fun in it again instead of it being something that hangs above my neck.

There's still so much story I would like to tell, so many ideas I have, but as of now, I'm putting the game officially on hiatus. That's something I never wanted to do, but I might be the right decision to get my head straight and find the energy to sort things out.

I hope I made some sense with this post.

Quick Status Report

Polls showed that most of you are OK with breaking saves.
So be it. ^^

I have already started to adjust the game to the new scripts, biggest change will be a questlog.
I'm currently trying to come up with silly Quest names. Feel free to suggest your own. ^;)

I'm planning to provide a special save with the next save, where you can recreate the conditions of your old save. This save will skip the first 3 chapters, so you will start with Shooga and Jack at the shores of Fatienobel.

What else did I do...

Chapter 6 is about 50% complete.

Started to remake 2 of the older H-Scenes as well, finished a Scene for Noja, making it 6 new Scenes so far ( if you count the remade Cocki Sleep Scene).

The Mistra Village maps had a little make over, so did the starting map.

Did a lot of bug fixing, especially "holes" in the maps.

Remade the the Order Battlers.

I have to confess, the World Cup is a bit distracting atm and led to a temporary increase of my beer intake... and on top of that AA2 was released, so... Yeah, let's say, I'm not as productive atm as I normally would be. ^^°

I would like to thank User Mickele at this point, he's been my bug tester for a while now and is a great help and support. I think the fact that the games has as "few" bugs as it has, is mostly due to his effort.

Status and Breaking Saves Poll

Trying to post a status update every Sunday now, but did not have the time last Sunday because family stuff.

Last week and most of this week I worked on a additional "Quest" that allow either Jeff or Jack to recruit Noja, after the Devil Hunter Noja Quest is completed.

Shortly after Jeff and Jack part ways, depending on how her quest ended, Noja will either begin to stalk Jeff or try to have him testify about what happened in the ruins. 
the quest itself is rather short, it's more like either a cutscene with a potential battle with Jeff or Noja has to make it to the tower and survive. Should she die during either of these events, she's out of the game. I also made a small Gimmick that changes her actor graphic if she wears her mask or not.

Also, 2 new H-Scenes are unlockable during this, one is 80% finished (would be 100% if my PC did not crash all the time..).

Unfortunately some of the break savegames, meaning, if you would load an old save, the game would crash. You have to start a new game to play. So I removed them again.
But I would really really like to use them. ^^
So I'm setting up a poll, so you can decide whether breaking the saves is alright with you or not.

Status, Linkbucks, Donor Content, Browsing Safe(r) and Mysterious Adds

 So for some reason google has decided to place adds on my blog.
And they are pretty annoying. :/
I would just like to let you know that I'm not responsible for the new adds.
I'm still trying to find out if it's possible to get rid of them.

If you are as annoyed as I am by the adds, then I strongly advise you again to install an add blocker
Like Ad Block Plus and a anti script plug in like NoScript.

This should help you to avoid most of adds and funny scripts you might encounter when you're surfing the web.
NoScript requires some time to adjust your surfing habits, but it's totally worth it if you want to
surf safe(r). After a while you won't even think about it anymore. (Think buckling up before starting your car.)

Speaking of funny scripts: 

I said I would remove the linkbucks intermission for 3 months once I reached my donation goal of 300 € to repair my computer.

Since then I received 125 110 € in donations.

I still stand by that.
And regarding linkbucks, I know the site sucks but it's the only way atm for me to make some (very small) revenue from this game and to keep it free.

I'm am not responsible for what the intermission sites do or try to do to your computer, my only affiliation to them is, that I have an account and that's it.

Again, use the suggested plug ins to show malicious script the finger.

On the intermission site, just wait for the countdown to finish and click skip in the upper frame.

Do NOT download anything from linkbucks, do not download anything if you are unsure whether you are on the correct filehoster's download page!

Any files, that do not come from these sites, are not mine and possibly evil and will eat your brain and and kill your cat with fire!

I might have accidental broken older saves. :(
I'm getting bug reports that I can not reproduce and I do not know why.
Only explanation I have is, that I did something bad and older saves might produce those bugs.

Also, until I finished the next Update - no new patches.
I'm too far into the development process of Chapter 6 and a new patch might make break more things than in would fix.

What good did I do this week:

Jack's route in Chapter 6 is complete.


Jeff''s route in Plinpe is almost complete, just have to finish on more variant to proceed to the next part (Southern Islands).
The Southern Islands are  a vacation resort, sunny, hot, girls in skimpy bikinis.
Looking forward to that part. ^^

I made 2 new bonus pics (making it 12 total now).

And remade the battlers for Cocki.


Also I remade the short H-Scene where you first meet Cocki while she's asleep.
I did not just remake the pictures but also turned it into a Minigame similar to the Foo Photo Minigame.

 


Next I'm going to remake the Jack/Cocki blow job scene and the scene of Shooga posing at the beach.

The Donor Content now contains the following features:

- Option to unlock all Scenes in the Gallery.
- Option to unlock all Bonus Pictures.
- Exclusive Magic Item Shop in Plinpe with some powerful, yet expensive accessory.



- In said shop a small puzzle. Solving it will give you a 50% discount.
- A powerful exclusive skill for Roha can be unlocked.

Planned for the future:

- An exclusive Side Quest with H-Scene.

-Possibly an Option: A cheating system. Not sure if I should keep it, since it's a a two edged sword. You can change a lot of stuff with it, like your evil level, money, give you an item that kills all enemies with one hit, change certain decisions you made earlier etc. But you can also break your game with it.

Give me your Victory Messages!

As I already wrote, I added Yanfly's Victory Aftermath Script to the game.
It comes with a couple of random messages which the characters give after a battle.

But I would like to have unique phrases for each character, but I didn't come up with much yet,
apart from "Timber!"  for Jack... which I find rather lame.
Or "Roast in peace!" for Jeff.
Seems like One-Liners are not my thing. ^^
So I thought I'd be asking my players for their ideas.

Status

Just finished another quest line concerning Roha in case Richard did not make it out of the Asylum.




What's new is that I added another 2 of Yanfly's awesome scripts:
Free Turn Battle, which allows to be more strategic during battles,
and Victory Aftermath just because I think it looks neat. ^^



Also, I made a couple of new pictures for the Donor Content.
Here's a preview:

 All in all, making good progress here. I slept surprisingly well the last couple of nights, which really helps being creative. Might be the weather.  ^^

Oh, and again, please remember to always install the latest patch before you send a bug report.

Asking for your help

I'm having problems with my computer again...

The problem being that it keeps crashing on me, last time while I was in the middle of editing a rather large event... 2 hours of work were gone...

So I'm going to need a new one soon or I'm going to have give it to a workshop again, which I'd rather not want to do, because who knows when I'm going to get it back.

Given my current financial situation (no job apart from this one as of last month and it does not look too good to find something new) neither are an option right now.

So I'd like to ask for your help.

And by help I mean donations. Of course, only if you want to, but you'd really help me here.

In return I would do the following:

1) once the first goal is reached (let's say 300  €, which would cover a complete check and repair in a workshop), I going to deactivate all linkbucks links and replace them with direct links for at least 3 months and for the next big release.

What I have done so far: With the next update a new item will be added to the inventory calles "Donor Content" which will give donors the option to unlock all scenes in the gallery and all bonus pics. Additionally, a special feature will be added. Once you entered the password to unlock the special content,certain resting spots will appear. Resting at these points will show a variety of pictures (one at a time) similar to the bonus pictures.

Example: You dominated Shooga, so you'll get a Pic of Shooga and Jack getting it on. Or if you didn't, you'll see Shooga masturbating.

Asking for your help

I'm having problems with my computer again...

The problem being that it keeps crashing on me, last time while I was in the middle of editing a rather large event... 2 hours of work were gone...

So I'm going to need a new one soon or I'm going to have give it to a workshop again, which I'd rather not want to do, because who knows when I'm going to get it back.

Given my current financial situation (no job apart from this one as of last month and it does not look too good to find something new) neither are an option right now.

So I'd like to ask for your help.

And by help I mean donations. Of course, only if you want to, but you'd really help me here.

In return I would do the following:

1) once the first goal is reached (let's say 300  €, which would cover a complete check and repair in a workshop), I going to deactivate all linkbucks links and replace them with direct links for at least 3 months and for the next big release.

Status and about Patches


I would like to remind you players that you should always install the latest patch along with the current version. If you run into a bug, please check if you have the patch installed correctly and if so, whether the problem still occurs, before posting a bug report.

Making good progress here.
I'm currently working on the third of... errr... many H-Scenes for the next chapter.

I noticed that the Noja Quest can still be played in the beginning of Chapter 6 and I think I'm going to keep it that way.

 There is now a new location in Fatienobel, a ferry port. Which will become important later.





Also made some changes to the sneaker CE, from the next chapter on having a party member in the reserve party with sneakers equipped is not enough anymore to avoid random encounters.
But I'm trying to go away from the random encounters anyway.
