Known Bugs

Did you find a bug? Please tell me in the comment section of this page, I will try to fix it as soon as I can.
I can fix it even faster if you can provide me with a save from right before the bug occurs, so I can look into it. Upload it somewhere or send me a pm over at hongfire  to get my email address. Also read the FAQ Page for more information.



This is an old list of reported and confirmed bugs up from 0.4.2
(Can contain spoilers)

-There is a bug in the Asylum that makes it impssible to progress after Jeff decides whether to help the inmates in the burning Asylum. This happens if you did not open at least one of the cells on the Frotress Island aside from the Cell with Subject one inside.

Version 0.4.2:
-German Version only:  I left a cheat inside the german version.
I uploaded a quick patch here that removes it.
I won't tell you how the cheat works, but eventually players will find out.
So if you want to play "fair", copy this patch into the folder "Patches" inside the main game directory. If the Folder does not exist, create it.



Version 0.4.1.3a:
-If you dominate Roha in your dungeon together with Shooga, the game will not recognise her as dominated.
So choose another way for later events that require her to be dominated for now until I fixed that.
-The cave on the snake island in Fatienobel West can be entered from sea side.
Don't do that or you won't be able to get back to your boat.
-When you approach the Asylum guards, don't walk up to them after they talk to you or you will be stuck. Instead walk down.
-Looks like that after the fight when you decide not to blackmail the Abbess some sprites can get stuck, causing the game to freeze. Also it seems that does not happen every time. No way around that right now.
- English version only: Roha's Portrait change after the domination bugged
-Asrap appears after the Looka Scene with Jeff in the Pub, Blocking further event progress, solution for now - kill him - or remove him from you current party
-2 Pictures of Looka are supposed to be shown when Jeff meets her. Does not happen
-Jeff's sprite does not undress in said scene
- Shooga becomes dominated if you watch her dom scene in the gallery even though she was not dominated in the current play through.
- Watching the Asrap - Jack - Roah Scene in the Gallery causes a similar issue. The game will think that the scene happened in the current play through even though it did not.




Version 0.4.1.2b:

-triple attack bug. Somehow I did not notice that the triple attack skill hits 3-4 times. That makes up to 12 hits.
-gotta revise the gallery menu again. nothing major, it all works but the buttons for unlocked scenes seem not to change to the graphic they are intended to do.
-untranslated line in gallery menu for foo extra scene
-Fatienobel mine H-event for dominated Shooga and dominated (by Jack) Tiassa: bug after that scene that would freeze the game.
-If you dominated Roha at the harbor, did not kill Asrap and took the option to let him handle her, Roha will still freak when she sees him leading to make it necessary to capture her. This is not supposed to happen. Will be fixed with the next Version.
-Game over Screen after Jeff, Asprap and Lanakwin fought Dameeter and Jeff members has 0 HP. Solution: keep Jeff alive until Lnakwin falls. Will be fixed with next versoin.

Version 0.4.1.2:


- after Asrap (the green haired guy with an eye patch) disappears your group decides to warn Mistra Ban Ban.

The guards won't let you enter her chamber and you are supposed to talk to Fister to proceed, but nothing happens. Apparently this Bug appears only in the English version. You can work around it by importing your save to the german version, and save afterwards and import that save back to the english version. Another way appears to be not to talk to Fister after Asrap disappears from his office and go find him directly. Only talk to Fister after the guards send you away. Fixed with Version 0.4.1.2b.

- After Shooga talks Tiassa in to join your party, Cocki suddenly is at Level 99. Fixed with Version 0.4.1.2b.

  1. Hi, I encountered another game breaking bug in version 0.4.1.2 English. Haven't downloaded and checked 0.4.1.2b yet.

    This happens if you leave Tiassa and Shooga behind in the spider cave and both have been dominated by Jack. After Jack defeats the queen spider, there is some dialogue between the two of them. Afterwards you get some misplaced lines between Cocki and Tiassa, then the game freezes. [If Tiassa has been dominated by Shooga and not not by Jack, you get an H-Scene instead].

    Also, the walkthrough mentions a scene which should play when losing to the two torturers early on after escaping from prison. I was never able to trigger this scene, all I got was the game over screen.

    And: The "triple attack" used by some boss enemies (Asrap, Blechsack) might be broken. Enemies using this skill attack your party more than ten times, often resulting in instant game overs. I was still able to win these fights using blind or sleep spells, but the fact that those fights are a lot more difficult than any other fights, as well as the skill being named "triple attack", suggests that it might not be intended to be that powerful.

    1. The scene ou mentioned is triggered when you lose and your evil lvel is under 2. But I took the evil level restriction out for the next version. You can still watch it in the gallery though

      The tripple attack is indeed broken, but I did not noice until now. Fixed that.

      And I think I'm gonna restructure the whole mine events, it's kinda messy as it is now.

Just to clear things up about that mine freeze as I think I might have worded it in a somewhat confusing manner earlier judging from your description of that bug in your list: The H-scene you get when Tiassa has been dominated indirectly through Shooga works fine and you can continue the game on that path. The freeze only occurs if Tiassa has been dominated by Jack himself.

  2. I found a bug while playing evil mode.
    If we help asrap instead of killing him we need to dominate roha twice to get her under our control instead of one.

    1. I take it that you took the "become new boatsman route", had you way with her at the harbor and then she still freaked at the beach when you pick him up later?
      I need more details on how you played.
      Did you get the nun dress for Asrap and deliver it to him?

  5. Found a bug. If you rape Tiassa and she joins your group before you visit Moosheim, the night event after you talk to the guards and sleep in the inn doesn't trigger.

  6. the drunk girl sequence triggered after the fight with the order and the scenes in the tower. I was going to Plinpe with the whole group and accidentally entered the pub.

    I was too evil to get that before but after the good/evil reset jake is now good.

    For the above part taken from Version 0.4.1.2b bugs, was the scene taken out in the latest release? I can get a scene if Shooga had helped dominate Tiassa, but if I dominated her as Jack, Shooga says that there's not enough time for her and Tiassa to do anything together and no H-scene happens.

      There a 3 possible scenes, none has been taken out - but I meant the one you got in the describtion. All routes to unlock them are in the walkthrough.

  10. Hello, 1st of all i would like to thank you for your awesome work ^_^

    Now the bug, i am at the bridge where you have to cross to fight the spider queen. i left behind corki and tarissa and went back and triggered the bridge. everything went fine but i was curius so i went back and checked on corki and tarissa and when i got back to the bridge i couldnt activate the bridge again and i now i'm stuck.

    is there a way around this or do i need to wait for a fix or something? (its my only save and i saved after i made this bug.. silly me...)

  11. Is it possible that Tia's new scene doesn't trigger properly? In the cutscene towards the end she said she'd spend the night with Jack but nothing ever came of it.

    I believe I chose the "Punish Shooga" option in the cabin. At least that's what my notes say. They might be wrong, but the only way for me to check would be to replay from a much earlier save. Thanks.

    1. To get that scene you must choose "Wait and see". Otherwise Tia is considered fully dominated.

  12. I can't open the door that leads further into the asylum after you just entered the room with the for tables and the two doctors watching the patiensts in the cells

  13. After taking pictures for cook in chapter one (watched H-scene), everything is pinkish. Tried to restart the game, tried to continue playing hoping that normal colors will return but nothing helped. Did not have time to play again.

  15. Hello. I am on the part where Jack goes into the warden's office after Jeff and other members have cleared the first floor to help the inmates. When the scene starts, I get short dialogue between the warden and Jack, but after that nothing happens and I am unable to move either. Menu doesn't seem available either, so I assume it's a bug.

  17. Hello. Thanks to the patch, I managed to get through the part and finish chapter 5.

    I was just going through the whole game again, since I had missed out some side quests/items on the first run.
    While following the walkthrough to make sure I don't miss out anything, I noticed that even though I chose all the "good options" which don't give evil points to Jeff and Jack, Jeff kept his red aura all the time, while Jack seemed to be able to change from blue to green depending on the choices. (haven't checked if it was possible to become red for Jack as well)
    The thing is, on the part where the party talks with Klara's mother, the dialogue seems to be the one which occurs when Jeff is on red aura. But, on the side quest with Alika, the dialogue is one for Jeff on blue aura, and I received Flame II for reward. Jeff's aura remained red the whole time.
    Also, when I talked to the cookie santa, he mentions Jeff and Jack wouldn't get along at this status, which looks like what would be said if Jeff was on red aura.
    I haven't chose the options which give evil points to Jack but takes away evil point from Jeff. (-1 to Jeff +1 to Jack basically)

    So, I was wondering if this was something intended, where Jeff remains on red aura if Jack has lower evil point than Jeff, or if this was a bug.

  18. Hello. Finally managed to finish the chapter with all the side quests/items gathered.

    After the playthrough, I've found some more bugs, so I'd be pestering you again X/

    -In the Plinpe sewer, in the cell which can be opened by deactivating blue switch that contains Bonus photo and an item box, the item box gives you Glacier scroll, which is also found in the Asylum.
    Using the Glacier scroll found in the sewer teaches Shooga Ice II, but the skill is unusable, and shows in the skills like when you don't have enough MP/TP for using the skill.
    The next Glacier scroll teaches Shimmer to Shooga, and this one works fine, apparently.

    -After completing the Pidora quest, when you go to the fountain again, the shining spot is there again, and when interacted it triggers the same event again, although the blond girl who steals the pendant does not appear.
    The sound effect and reaction all remains the same as it did in actual event, and the pendant is gone from inventory.
    The Pub where you find Pidora is still locked, and the event in which the blonde girl enters the warehouse does not take place.
    Your party becomes restricted to Jeff and Klara only as well. Haven't found a way to get back to the normal 4-people party.

    -In the Asylum, in the fortress, there was a bug where the door activated by blue switch was open even though the blue switch was not activated.
    When you activate it and deactivate it again, the door functions normally.
    This doesn't really have any effect on the gameplay, so guess it's not much of a problem.
    During the previous playthrough, however, there was a case in which going up the stairs and going down again locked the door and you were unable to get out.
    This also involved the blue switch being deactivated but the door remaining open. (since this didn't happen in this playthrough, perhaps the bug was solved in previous patches? Just making sure.)

    Think that's about all that I can remember at this point.
    They all seem to be quite minor bugs that can be avoided and don't really hinder gameplay, so might not really be worth spending time looking through these, but thought it was worth letting you know at least.

  20. Hi, I posted this in the walkthrough section, but I thought I might post it here too. I'm having a problem in Lanakwin, after doing everything else I've rested and returned to the jail cell at night, I can open the cell and slide the bed away but it won't let me climb down the hole.. I read the walkthrough and it seems like the only thing I did different was to open all the chests and kill the guards that come after me..

  21. When you are at the convent and choose to blackmail the abbess it says that Shooga learned Freeze, however the move doesn't show up in her skills list.

    Also, when you talk to the guy at the pub to buy the pictures of Klara all the text is in German, and whether I choose the first, second, or third option (since I can't read German, I don't know for sure what the options are exactly) the picture/s aren't added to my inventory nor my photobook.

    1. The german lines go on me, but the Photo Bug seems to happen with older saves.
      I can not reproduce it.
      Did you happen to use a save that was originally from the german Version? at some point?

    2. The saves I used were carried over from the version I had that was the one right before this most recent one, so they would've been from an English version. If those pictures would go in the bonus part of the photobook, it won't be something I'm going to worry about since after reading about the perks of being a donor (in addition to liking this game), I'd get access to them once I donate (I've left a comment in regards to that under your June 2 post).

      Another instance of German text still being left in the English version is when you're in the asylum right after Jack has barricaded himself in the library. I had tried to turn on the lights to Richard's cell and open it to see if I could still save him even though Roha was dominated, and the text for turning the lights on/off and opening/closing the doors was in German.

    3. You'll get access with the next big update.

      I encountered this bug with saves from older versions, but not with mine.
      I was able to narrow the source of this bug down to the global save script and a couple of running common events. Still, I have to do more testing.

      Also, I found the german lines and translated them.

  22. Oops. I seemed to have missed Freeze showing up in Special instead of Magic, so that problem doesn't really exist, but the other issue regarding Klara still happens.

  23. i just had a really nasty bug...for some reason all my saves just stopped working..did not upadate the game or anythng...was playing...quit...re-opened a few mins later and cannot load any of my 3 saves..i get 'line 65 typer error occurred, incompatible marshal file (cant be read) format version 4.8 require; 0,0 given' oh and for 1 of my saves the little picture of your party is gone.

    any idea what just happened?

      Maybe try to remove the global save file and see whether this works.

  26. When choosing to have Shooga help dominate Tiassa in the bath, after the bj scene with Shooga it just loops back to where Shooga suggests smuggling in some of his semen. The scene doesn't start playing again though, and just shows what it did before the scene starts. The only thing I can do then is hit the cancel/x key to bring up the option to either exit the scene or to cancel and continue with the scene, but choosing to exit just starts the loop over again, and saying cancel does nothing. I had started over from scratch after downloading the newest version. If you like, I can provide a save if you think it will help you figure it out.

  27. When defeating Odalphes in the first Noja quest, the only rewards you get are bubies, a Mana Up, and a Magic Up. Jeff no longer learns Mysticism like he did in the previous version for winning.

    Also, while it may not entirely be a bug (but I'm not quite sure where would be a better place to put this), even with Klara's teddy the fight is extremely difficult even though only time I had transformed beforehand was the first time you were able to/had to (so he should have been at his weakest level). Klara's teddy only uses Flame II and does about 450 damage (about the same as Fire II would do to just one enemy) to Odalphes, Cramp, and Crumb (which, seeing as Odalphes started with 15,600 HP, was nowhere near the drastic damage the walkthrough says it should, nor did it bring him anywhere close to being killed). The only hope I had of winning that fight was to keep trying to put all of them to sleep and hope it didn't fail very much, and even once Cramp and Crumb were gone, I still had to end up using 20 potions, 9 Hi-potions, and 4 regenerative pollens just to finish off Odalphes.

    2. OK, there a mistake in the Walkthrough, the skill he learns is Mystic Spell not Mysticism.
      Also the HP calculation was buggy. Fixed that.

  28. hi I just found a game breaking bug. At the start of chapter 5 the h-scene between jeff and lakwing or whatever her name is. After the h-scene is finishes it keeps repeating in a never ending loop that you can't get out of.

    "He plans to abduct her".

Found a rather minor glitch, when you decide to climb down into the hole that appears north of Moosheim it has Foo saying something even though she's still missing, and then it has some blonde girl (who I've never seen in the game before and can only assume is someone you can later get to join your party) tell Jeff to get up. I'm assuming it's supposed to be some other girls, who are actually able to be in your party at that point, that are the ones talking.

      You should reload your game from before the point when you got that bug because the conversation won't trigger again if you don't and that might cuase problems.

Also hab gerade was gefunden, also wenn ich ganz am Anfang den Typen klatsche und der mich dann zur ersten "Stadt" begleitet, wir mit dem Typen in der Stadt labbern und der dann in das Haus möchte... Da versperrte ein Huhn den Weg ins Haus da das Huhn direkt ins Haus lief wo der NPC eigentlich hineingehen könnte.

Hi I encounter bug when Jack going to Fortress to rescues Cocki and Klara when I open the door need to arrange formation normally will force to use Jack Jeff Roha and Laknawin but Noja appear from nowhere and I can't finish formation because Game force to put Noja in party too( That mean 5 people need to put in party ) please help me

As someone encountered this Bug in an earlier Version of the Game, i encountered it today again, even t hough i have the Patch installed - When u "escape" Lanakwins Fortress from the Undergroundcave beneath the Prison, you cant exit it (well, you can, but you are stuck.. http://gyazo.com/96adb7dc62341bae1eb9c50c48e15a59 here is a screen of where i am stuck.)

  36. Finally, ran through chapter 1 to chapter 6 in 18 hrs or so.
    Like last time, can't wait for the next chapter, hngh.
    And, like last time, a bug report time!
    Well, not much to report really..
    There was this incident where the fencing fence book gives Pidora new skill, but she cannot use it, and the skill description says it's for chainsaws. This perhaps has something do do with the fact that I used the fencing fence book during the pre-battle menu.
    The crabs hit like a truck, which is more of a balance thing but then again, Noja with flame spitter hits like a buldozer, so that kinda nullifies that..
    FIre III seems to do not much damage compared to Fire II. I only had chance to use it 3 times or so, but those instances showed damage output of about 700~800, while Fire II showed damage output of about 600~.
    And, our dear Asrap still seems to not really shine.. Think I saw something about a skillbook for him somewhere, but it wasn't mentioned in the walkthrough and I couldn't find it during playthrough. Sad Asrap is sad.
    In any case, thank you for the awesome game, and hope you keep up the efforts!

      I fixed the Bug for Pidora.
      And I gave the Level 3 Spells a bit more thud.
      Sadly, at this point of development I can not fix this via patch, I made to many changes already, so I'll have to upload the whole game again.
      Asrap's skillbook is Gunars Chainsaw Tricks. The locations are mentioned in the walkhrough.

    2. Guess that means another playth.... I'll have to think about this a bit more.
      Anyways, just remembered two more things.
      One, there was this item (Salatt I think?) found in one of the crates in Southern Island. The description is in German, and while that is not exactly a bug, considering how the game is in English version, thought you might want to change that.
      Two, when you visit the bungalow of the two tourist girls straight after getting their keys with Jeff, the blinking sprites of the two girls doing.. things appear. The sprites seem to be doing the same thing as they do when you visit the bungalow as Foo, but since the two girls are tanning on the beach, and the sprites seem glitchy, thought I'd report this one, too.

I know I'm being picky here, but please, understand that I'm a perfectionist prick that cannot pass these kinda things. T.T

  38. In the asylum, when the warden and her companions go downstairs the second time, immediately after leaving the screen, you're unable to move. I can still see the man moving in cell 4, and the lantern between cells 3 and 4 flickering; so I know the game is not frozen or trying to access the save menu. I simply can't turn, or move to get out from behind the boxes. I cannot access the menu either.

  39. About my recent comment that hasn't yet received a reply... Turning OFF Anti-Lag stops this. Having it ON allows the semi-freeze to occur.

  40. Going up to the second floor of the prison on either side; after returning to the Asylum and getting armor to disguise the whole party; results in a similar semifreeze, no matter if the Anti-Lag is ON or OFF.

    2. Went back to an older save I had when I was in the Convent, got it right up to before entering the asylum, so you can test from there.

      Was fiddling a bit more, managed to get past the semifreeze when going to the second floor with everyone in disguise. But when I get to the game going back to Jack in the Warden's office after releasing all prisoners, it now does the semifreeze there; and shows Jeff's sprite in Jack's place.

  41. New patch has not fully fixed Anti-Lag problem. It's now freezing up after Jack tries to enter the courtyard; when the Island Tower blows, spreading fire to the main Asylum, right when the top of the screen moves so that Jeff's sprite is lined up with it.

    1. I tested this twice again, once in the dev version, once in the release version. Both worked fine. Maybe something went wrong when you downloaded the patch. Try to download it again.

  42. Noja's post tentacle-demon event triggers early and the game confuses Jack and Jeff.

    After defeating Maneko? (The puppeteer demon) and Odalphes you swap over to Jack's team. Noja can be seen speaking with various guards. If you speak with her you can initiate the Jeff vs Noja event.

    Furthermore, certain conversations will display Jeff instead of Jack whether you trigger the Noja event or do not.
